Aging should be a time of connection and fulfillment, yet many seniors face isolation, financial strain, and declining health without adequate support. Catholic Charities is committed to ensuring that older adults have access to the resources, companionship, and care they need to lead meaningful lives. Catholic Charities develops and operates high quality senior housing throughout the region, providing stable and supportive living environments that empower older adults to thrive with independence. We support seniors in our community centers and elder care programs to ensure all individuals remain active and valued members of their communities.

Senior Housing
Catholic Housing and Community Services (CHCS) provides a robust senior housing program that enables seniors who are 62 and older to remain active in their communities while enjoying affordable, comfortable, stylish apartment living. With nine buildings throughout Philadelphia, CHCS has created independent senior communities that enable older adults to age in their homes with features specific to their needs such as roll-in showers, emergency pull chords, handrails, and access to an on-site social worker.

Senior Community Centers
The Senior Community Centers located throughout Philadelphia, in partnership with the Philadelphia Corporation for Aging, offer opportunities for socialization, recreation, physical exercise, education, and nutritional support with a focus on overall health, wellness, and independence for our elder generations in need. These social services also provide access to nutritious meals, supplemental food resources, and direct assistance in applying for benefits.

Parish Eldercare
Catholic Charities supports older adults in parishes throughout the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. Through a team of Care Managers, we assist individuals and families by providing valuable resources, acting as advocates and liaisons, and coordinating needed services. The core of our parish eldercare program is an in-home assessment and care plan that is tailored to each individual’s unique needs.
